The main objective of ZIMS is to create a research institute on a European level.

The ZIMS concept is designed to portray progressive production systems with its practical design while enabling experimentation and further research into intelligent manufacturing systems.

Zilina Intelligent Manufacturing Systems is utilized on the basis of a partnership agreement between organizational unit of the University of Žilina – the Institute of Innovations and the private research company CEIT, a.s.

The department is located in the company CEIT.
